Week 3 Predictions

So as I said in the recap some of the predictions for last week were dead on and others were blown out of the water going into week 3 there really isn’t any stand out teams in either division as everything is still really close and week 3 should prove to be interesting.

Diamond Division

Dead Strokes (1-1) [5-5] vs. Freedom (1-1) [4-6]
Both these teams got off to a great start in week 1 and got hammered in week 2. DS didn’t have a chance to do much last week against BnR and Fr walked into their match against EB cocky after the EB no show in week 1. Both teams will be looking to rebound here but only one will be able too. Roy will likely bring a similar team to last week in Ash, Eddie and John as they are 3 of the better DS players. Petey will just be hoping to get through the next week or so as best possible without Trav. Fr still has Craig, Dan, Shan and Petey himself who our tough contenders and will likely push this to a game 5.
3-2 Fr as they look to get back on track

Break N Run (1-1) [6-4] vs. Latino Pool Legends (2-0) [9-1]
BnR ran over DS last week and will be looking to do the same here this week. They welcome back miz to pool as a recruit and will give them a boost even if he cannot play on 5 ids like he used to in interleagues.  With Jordy Croz and Miz leading this strong BnR team it looks like they are going to be tough to beat this season and it’s going to be hard to predict them to lose. LPL lead by Tino have always been a force in UIC and will look to prove it here, with some pickups from PFN this match may feel like an old rivalry, another match that is likely to go to game 5.
3-2 BnR

Explicit Ballers (1-1) [4-6] vs. Straight Shots (0-2) [2-8]
EB no showed in week one leaving us with many questions to be asked or unasked whatever the case may be, With Scott and Jason leading the way for EB they will prove to be a force here in UIC, SS is still struggling as they have been everywhere and things aren’t going to be any easier this week as they go up against a tough EB side.
4-1 EB as SS continue to struggle.

Emerald Division

Sexy Poolerz (1-1) [7-3] vs. Pool Dragonz (2-0) [8-2]
SP had an easy week against CS last week as they only showed with 3 players allowing SP to easily walk away with a 5-0 win, PDZ on the other hand had a tough match last week against SB which went to game 5. SP may have gotten an easy win last week but could end up back in their struggling ways this week as a hot PDZ team will be looking to stay undefeated atop the ladder.
4-1 PDZ as they keep the fire burning.

Cue Spin (0-2) [0-10] vs. Big Dogs (0-2) [2-8]
Well after this week we will see one team remain winless and one team finally pick up a win, we have a battle of the underdogs here this week and with BD’s only 2 wins coming via credits I really don’t have a clue how to predict this match other than hope that since BD at least showed with a full team last week they can pick up at least one win and sit back on a couple of credit wins just like last week. CS only showed with 3 players last week and haven’t put up a win as of yet but here is their chance against their fellow cellar dwellers.
3-2 BD cause they will have a full team?

Streak Breakerz (1-1) [7-3] vs. 8 Ball Crushers (2-0) [6-4]
SB took PDZ to the limit last week and if they can do the same this week they may very well pick up the win this week as 8BC only showed with 3 last week, showing with 3 this week won’t be enough to get the job done. If 8BC show with a full team this week they can likely crush SB’s hopes of another win as they look to remain undefeated and stay up there with PDZ.
3-2 SB in what some may call an upset.

Hope you enjoy this week’s predictions, good luck to all teams and remember these predictions are written to be proven wrong and most importantly have fun.

Week 2... And Teams Are Already Struggling

Well it was an interesting week 2 in UIC where I somehow called a couple of matches right on and in others I was blown out of the water and some teams have left me wondering so let’s get into this brief recap based on scores since I wasn’t there for most of UIC once again... go me :)

Diamond Division

Latino Pool Legends def Straight Shots 4-1
Well here is one of the matches that I happened to call dead on, while I’m not sure if it looked like it was closer than the 4-1 LPL are once again showing that they do have what it takes to be a force here in UIC even though they have tougher challenges ahead. SS are off to a very poor start this season which I can’t really say surprises me as they have lost 1-4 in the 1st two weeks of UIC, SS is capable of bringing a better team to the table but the question is are the players there and willing.

Explicit Ballers def Freedom 4-1
Ok, so where the hell do I start here, EB completely blew my prediction out of the water and shown me that they do indeed have a team to be reckoned with here in UIC and I almost want to change my IPA predictions but I won’t, I’m not really sure who most of the EB players are as of yet but I did state that they looked like they could have a talented core and they proved it here. Petey and Fr came into this match thinking they had it in the bag after the EB no show last week and this could be why Craig was the only one to pick up a win for Fr...

Break and Run def Dead Strokes 4-1
Now yes I did predict DS to win this match 3-2 but in no means does this outcome surprise me, BnR have a stacked team as they do anywhere they go and with 3 runs in 5 games there wasn’t much DS could do as their talent wasn’t really given a chance to shine.

Emerald Division

8 Ball Crushers def Big Dogs 3-2
8BC only brought 3 players to the table this week and lucky for them it was all they needed, BD have yet to do anything to impress me as their only 2 wins have come due to their opponent not having players and this isn’t a good sign for either team as 8BC will need more than 3 players to stand a chance in further matches and BD need more than a couple of credit wins to get them out of the gate.

Pool Dragonz def Streak Breakerz 3-2
So here we have the other match I called dead on and it was indeed a game 5 thriller, PDZ jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead with Hani and DJ kicking things off, SB evened it out in the next 2 games with Oscar playing a great game and getting the better of Steven in the end with a very nice bank at that, game 4 was just an ugly game that went SB’s way, game 5 pitted Drew against Jenn which is where I expect to see Drew playing for PDZ anytime it gets to this point... Jenn broke and that was the only shot she got as we saw Drew quickly run out the table in the best game we’ve seen out of him since 2002? Just sayin.

Sexy Poolerz def Cue Spin 5-0
Ok so another 0-5 loss for Cue Spin like 8BC only showed with 3 players which worked the exact opposite as every player for CS lost, this may also give SP the moral boost to turn things around because even though it’s not an impressive win it is a win none the less and could start them in the right direction. CS need to start getting players to the table or they will likely end up out of UIC sooner rather than later.

As always I hope you enjoy the read and congrats to the teams that proved me wrong and well thanks to the teams that made it look like I some what know what I'm doing

UIC 14 Week 2 Predictions, Guess Whos Back

Where to start where to start, I’m really not up to date on all the new leagues here in UIC or yahoo in general but since no one has yet to step up and do some predictions for UIC I will make my long awaited return and give it a go, I’ll start with my end of season rankings then a brief recap of last week I can’t get in to much detail as I wasn’t here but after checking into it lets give it a go.

Diamond Division

1st – Dead Strokes – based on their performance in week 1 and what I’m expecting out of them this season I have no problem placing them here.

2nd – Break N Run – BnR is a stacked team even for here in the Diamond division, with players the likes of Jordy, Mina and Ross, they are easily a force to be reckoned with but after losing to Fr in the season opener time will only tell.

3rd – Latino Pool Legends – I may be underestimating LPL this season but I really don’t know what to expect from them after a 1st week bye and changes that have come to their roster.

4th – Freedom – Petey and Fr never fail to shock and upset so placing them in 4th may make me look stupid (I really don’t care) if Fr can stay consistent throughout the season they should place better than predicted but I’m not sure Petey has the crew to do it, best of luck in proving me wrong.

5th – Straight Shots – SS always seem to start off slow and make their way back over time and in a 20 week season they have time to make ground but with the other teams in this division if they get to far behind there’s no catching up.

6th – Explicit Ballers – After no showing in week one EB have assured us they will be here for week two, I have no clue what to expect so they get stuck here.

Emerald Division

1st – Pool Dragonz – Now this may be shocking as PDZ really aren’t known for winning anything anywhere or doing too well in interleagues, however PDZ has seen a lot of changes over the off season and starting off with a 5-0 over CS in the season opener is just the showing they needed.

2nd – 8 Ball Crushers – UIC 13 Emerald division Reg. Season and Playoff Champs, I do not see 8BC repeating last season as there is much stiffer competition this season than there was last season, I do however see them giving PDZ a run for their money.

3rd – Streak Breakerz – I don’t have a clue about this team but they started the season off with a 5-0 over another unknown team, Good luck this season and welcome to UIC.

4th – Sexy Poolerz – SP is well known to interleagues but have not been fairing well as of late, I hope to see a change in their losing way but only time will tell, welcome back to UIC after a couple of seasons off and good luck.

5th & 6th Cue Spin and Big Dogs, both these teams lost their season opener 0-5 which is never a good way to start off the season as things won’t get any easier, I’m not sure how these 2 teams will make out as they are both new here in UIC and have a long fight ahead of them, luckily there is time to get the hang of things... hope you both can prove me wrong.

Diamond Division

Freedom def Break N Run 3-2
One of the biggest if not the biggest rivalry in UIC has been sparked back up here as BnR returns to UIC after a long absence, now I don’t know if anything of interest happened in this match as I haven’t heard much about it other than “just the normal over the top BnR v FR rivalry” and a brief conversation with Cubby leads me to believe that this would of been an entertaining match to be a fly on the wall for, any way welcome back to UIC BnR and good luck this season, Petey you and freedom are off to a good start with a big win over your biggest rivals, keep it up and I see good things for Fr this season.

Dead strokes def Straight Shots 4-1
I know nothing about this match other than DS came out firing, it’s shocking to see that Corey is the one loss for DS, none the less if the team they brought in week 1 is a sign of things to come look out diamond division it’s going to be a bumpy ride. SS are off to a slow start as always seems to be the case with them, I know Nigel has expressed some concern about the length of the season and I hope we don’t see a repeat of a few seasons back with SS going on a downward spiral and withdraw from UIC, look for SS to turn things around eventually let’s just hope it’s before it’s too late.

LPL got a easy season opener at the expense of EB no showing but they have assured us that they will be here next week

Emerald Division

Pool Dragonz def Cue Spin 5-0
Ok so maybe it should have been 4-1 but when you don’t record the 1st 4 minutes or so of a game in a cam mandatory interleague you are going to be dqed, so after that dq CS captain decides to try and dq a PDZ player for not having the elapse time in time stamp, I will note something from the UIC rules just in case “It should be noted that minor technicalities will not be grounds for disqualification - Admins will look at any possibly discrepancies on a case by case basis and their decision, if required, is final !”.... Now call me crazy but even if elapse time was mandatory I do believe it would fall under this category, I have since noticed that on the cam setup page it states that this is NOT mandatory... so alas we arrive at the final score of 5-0 PDZ are on a high and CS need to step things up to compete here in UIC.

8 Ball Crushers def Sexy Poolerz 3-2
Nothing surprising here as 8BC show why they won last season and SP continue their struggle interleague wide, I haven’t heard anything about this match so can’t say too much about it other than keep up the good work 8BC and I really hope SP can turn things around for themselves not just here but everywhere.

Streak Breakerz def Big Dogs 5-0
Two new teams to UIC, SB walked right over BD but I don’t know the quality of players from either side, I look forward to watching these teams over the next few weeks and hopefully if I continue to do predictions and recaps they will get better as I get to know the teams.

Ok so now we will go onto week two predictions and see if I can muster up anything right or close too after a long absence from predictions.

Diamond Division

Latino Pool Legends (1-0) [5-0] vs. Straight Shots (0-1) [1-5]
LPL started off with a bye last week so by looking at the credits the only two people I know from LPL’s old timers is Tino and Daru, with the addition of Kerry and Brian I believe it is LPL should remain a strong team as long as things go their way. SS started the season off with a rough loss to a strong DS team and things don’t get any better here in week two for them as they face what should be a solid LPL team who will only look to build of the easy season opener.
4-1 LPL in what should be closer than it looks.

Freedom (1-0) [3-2] vs. Explicit Ballers (0-1) [0-5]
Petey and Fr won over BnR last week and I expect them to run over EB here after EB failed to show in week one I have no clue what to expect from them as I have nothing to go on other than hope they show with a full team.
4-1 Fr with ease

Break N Run (0-1) [2-3] vs. Dead Strokes (1-0) [4-1]
BnR will be looking to rebound after a tough loss to Fr last week, if Jordy, Mina and Ross show and our on form it could be a long night for DS. DS on the other hand have John, Corey and Ashton to lead the way and can make it a long night for anyone they face making for one hell of an interesting matchup and due to the fact that it can easily go either way a rather tough one to predict.
This leaves me with no choice but to go with my favourites in DS 3-2

Emerald division

Big Dogs (0-1) [0-5] vs. 8 Ball Crushers (1-0) [3-2]
Big Dogs are lucky in a sense that they can’t do any worse than they did last week, unfortunately for them I believe 8BC are a much better team than SB when it comes to interleagues and experience so unless BD has something different to bring to the table this week and change things up its going to be another long night.
5-0 8BC in what will be a rather short match.

Pool Dragonz (1-0) [5-0] vs. Streak Breakers (1-0) [5-0]
PDZ walked over CS last week easily and SB walked over BD easily as their records show they are tied sitting atop the ladder but that is going to change this week and PDZ should prove to be a much bigger challenge for SB then their opponents last week in BD, I am looking for SB to take it to PDZ and keep it close but I’m not expecting them to win.
3-2 PDZ in a game 5 thriller

Cue Spin (0-1) [0-5] vs. Sexy Poolerz (0-1) [2-3]
CS could have had a game win last week had their player recorded the entire game, but as they are relatively new to interleagues they will learn over time. SP has a chance to get out of their slump here with a fairly easy match which will hopefully put some steam in their engine and get the gears rolling.
4-1 SP as I figure CS will have learned from last week

I hope you all enjoy the read and I’m sorry if I have offended anyone if you have even read this far. Good Luck to all teams in Week Two and the remainder of the season just in case I don’t have the time to keep this up on a weekly basis but I will indeed try, and most importantly for the underdogs out there, these predictions are written to be proven wrong.

UIC WEEK 2

Diamond Division
Deadstroke vs Straight shots
Should be a good match depending on who Ds bring to play but i do seeing them coming up a touch short in a good match vs SS.But who knows whats gonna happen ds has been having no shows and short players so who says they even show imma take ss they are my favorite in this match
4-1 i predict

Britpool vs lpl
This is gonna be a tought match for bp to win but its posibble with big wins from james and ben dj is he doesnt play like a fool like ive been seeing him do lately but im not counting lpl out they have alot of depth in there roster question is can brandi and dj pull off an upset
3-2 lpl i predict

Freedom vs Pfn
this is gonna be a tought match to call seeing pfn lost a tought match to bp and fr lost a tought match to ss i can see petey exspecting more from his players but i dont see them taking pfn down i see pfn winning this in good fassion with a 4-1 victory over fr

EMERALD DIVISION
EC VS SPS
What to say what to say i like SPS odds in this match seeing EC lost to pdz i dont see much more then a bunch of nubs in ec but lets not get started on ec . but who knows this match can go either way if scott shows up taking over captain from marco but 3-2 sps

UO vs Mib
Uo has talent weather or not they use it is the guestion if mib shows up i figure they will win this match 3-2

UIC 13 Season Opener

UIC Season 13 Is amongst us and a 20 week season at that, Roy must of completely lost it in the off season, but the rumor mill has it Drew is running the show this season, between IPA and UIC it looks like Drew is in for a hell of a lot of fun anyway I didn’t really plan on doing UIC Predictions this season and who knows if I will do any after this week as I don’t have much time and one set of predictions for Saturdays may just be enough for me but anyway to give you something for week 1 I’ll have a go at it even though I can’t be bothered with doing a preseason ranking so I’ll just get into the predictions.

Diamond Division

Britpool vs. Pool Fiction
So the regular season champions Britpool are still hanging around even after a faltering performance in the playoffs, with the depth of the roster they had last season and that core returning for this season you wonder what if any pickups BP has done in the off season, other than Steven coming over I haven’t seen anything to show much of a change in the roster and I expect to see BP pick up some activity now that UIC is back in action and they need the games for weekly elig. PFN struggled last season and I don’t see much changing this season unless they can bring 5 to the table every week and fire on all cylinders, with so many big names not playing any more or just floating around I don’t know what to expect from PFN in the season opener and I think BP under the leadership of Brandi and DJ will probably take this match fairly easy, with the likes of Ben, James, Coop, Pommy, Steven, DJ and the MVP S.lacka himself BP have a team that can compete with anyone on any day when on form and that’s not even getting into the depth BP posses… I expect this match could be filled with controversy, if you’ve read my IPA blog you will know what I’m talking about when I say this match is really PFN 2 vs. PFN but all kidding aside I have to favor PFN 2 in this match up… I mean BP
4-1 BP

Freedom vs. Straight Shots
Fr lead by Petey will be looking to show they can get some where this season in the diamond division and they will be looking to do so against what I called a joke of a team nearing the end of last season which was proven when Jon made the following statement in the shout box “14 Aug 10, 04:11 Jon: uic champs thanks” considering they lost to LPL and were only runner ups, but despite that little indifference between myself and Jon SS have been performing rather well and will be looking to start this season off with a bang and may have an easy starting task being as they play FR who have only been able to pick up wins by way of byes or no shows recently being that this is UIC and not IPA it means I have to pick a winner and no doubt on paper SS have the better team so I have to give this one to them but look for FR to push it to a game 5 decider
3-2 SS

Deadstrokes vs. Latino Pool Legends
Last season’s ED Reg Season Champs vs. Last season’s DD Playoff champs should make for an interesting match as DS fell apart in the playoffs much like BP and LPL kicked it into high gear come playoffs much like freedom did, 6pm est. on Saturdays seems to be a much better time for DS then 2pm so I expect DS to do better here in UIC then they have been doing in IPA. LPL… what can I really say about LPL other then you might as well just run and hide when you’re up against LPL because since UIC playoffs they’ve been unstoppable with an impressive 5-0-0 record in IPA look for them to carry that success into UIC with the likes of Daru, Tino, and maybe the likes of Ant returning I expect to see LPL dominate this match up as they have been doing in every match recently
5-0 LPL

Emerald Division

8 Ball Crushers vs. Ultimate Outlaws
I can’t really write much of a prediction on this as I don’t even know what UO is doing back in UIC, if PDZ are the whipping boys of IPA UO are going to be the whipping boys of the UIC ED and I don’t see this match going anyway but 8BC’s regardless of the team they bring.
4-1 8BC

Money in the Bank vs. Simply Pool Souls
MIB always seem to start off strong in the 1st couple of weeks of any interlg so I expect them to win this match, I don’t know much about SPS but since Rick is captain I expect them to do fairly well other then Rick and Jason I really don’t know who they will bring to the table, so the only quality player I can see SPS having is Rick hopefully I’m wrong and they have some quality players and depth because this isn’t carry and Rick can’t do it alone so I wish you the best of luck but it just seems almost impossible to beat MIB in season openers.
4-1 MIB

Extreme Cues vs. Pool Dragonz
Well I’ve always been told if you don’t have anything nice to say don’t say it at all so in regards to EC… PDZ have a lot of potential it’s just a question of when that potential will blossom, I will say this from the start PDZ may not pick up too many wins but they will pick up enough to not finish last cause I see that spot being reserved for UO, I will also say at this point prior to the season even starting PDZ will win the ED sportsmanship award because no one in this division is more sporting then Charles and the players that he will bring to the table win or lose, as much as I like PDZ and don’t like EC on paper EC has the better team and should be a shoe in for the win in the opening week.
3-2 EC

There shit but there they are hope you all enjoy the read and Good Luck in the opening week and remember have fun.

UIC Playoff Finals

We saw FR take DS down in 2 straight matches last week to take home the ED championship Congrats to FR on the playoff win and to DS on the amazing season they had.
We saw LPL roll over BP 0-3 in a match that was rather boring and BP just couldn't get out of the gate. Congrats to BP on the stellar season that they had and good luck in your future endevours, so this leaves us with what should be a tense bo3 match between SS and LPL

Will SS use coaching to their favor here? will it even matter as they are playing a team that just can't be stopped right now? I really don't know what to say about SS right now as i've lost all respect I did have for them after the nonsence in IPA, Other then saying I hope LPL wins this out right in 2 matches 3-0ing SS in both with players like pita and jon it won't be an easy task for LPL but at the same time Tino and Daru have done amazing with the team they have in the playoffs as they always do and will be coming out firing full force.
3-2 SS
3-1 LPL
3-0 LPL

UIC12 Playoffs Round 2

Diamond Division Round 2:
Brit Pool vs Latino Pool Legends
Season Series: Week 5: 4-1 BP, Week 10, 5-0 BP
Once again, BP fell again to SS but this time it was a real important match in round 1, after losing for the third time in 3 tries to SS, they find themselves in a must win game to reach the finals after only losing three times all season long. LPL were able to beat a struggling ICA team that took 5 games so hopefully for Tino he can continue the streak of bringing 5 to the table for LPL. Players like Chris, Ben and Drew will be key for BP and with this being only one match, Brandi will need to come out swinging and use home field to her advantage because if BP fall in a hole, their only way out is if LPL are short players.

Prediction - 3-1 BP

Emerald Division Championship:
Dead Strokes vs Freedom
Season Series: Week 2: 4-1 DS, Week 7: 4-1 DS, Week 10: 4-1 DS, Week 13: 3-2 FR
After getting 2 weeks off, DS finally play once again and they get to make up for it with a best of 3 format, for the Emerald Division Championship against one time ED winners Freedom, who narrowly defeated Money in the Bank last week in a bo3. Dead Strokes never had much competition this entire season cruising along, and with a dominating record against Freedom so far, it'd be hard to bet against DS. Players like Ashton, Tanz and Chuck will need to win against players like Petey, Adam and Corey. But will Corey even show against his new team? Personal opinion says it wont matter.

Prediction - 3-1, 2-3, 3-0 DS.
